Revamping Yourself to Becoming a Better Leader

REVAMP‼️‼️‼️

verb

/rēˈvamp/

give new and improved form, structure, or appearance to.

It’s time for you to take some time , revamp and then introduce the new and improved you to the world.

Have you ever been in a place where you feel as if people do not take pride in what you are presenting to them? Say, for instance, you are a leader in a church or a prominent organization but the ones who you are leading do not necessarily “follow your lead” anymore. Have you contemplated why?

As I sit and ponder on reasons I have gone roaming from a leader the most conspicuous ones that come to mind are their behaviors, lack of accountability, and responsibility. It is what they allow others to see and live a life opposite of what is expected. I have learned in my own experiences that we cannot expect to live a life that doesn’t align with what we expect others to follow. That is how we cause others to lose sight. As a fitness trainer, you should not expect your clients to eat well and create a lifestyle of fitness if you are not. It will definitely present itself in your appearance if you are not following your own guidelines. So I pose the question of how can you help a person obtain discipline if you have none?

Assuming that we want to become effective and purposeful, we must align our lives to the purpose. In the case that we find ourselves not aligned and ineffective, we must revamp.

How do you revamp…

Isolate and meditate. Rather your revamping times take 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 months this is your time to purge the old and reappear as the new and improved you.

Revamping requires starting from the beginning. Analyze your original plan and transform what is causing you to malfunction. After doing this you may realize that the cause of the break down is you.

Assess your behaviors and get an accountability partner. We all need one rather it is a friend, mentor, spouse, or family member. Prompt someone that will guarantee that you “practice what you preach”.

Understand your vision, goals, and what is required of you. When you have a clear understanding, you can clearly lead.

Remove any attachments in your life that causes distractions, doubt, fear, and bad decisions. Often times it is the places and people in which you choose to settle in that makes it difficult to expand for the better.

Acknowledge your short comings and learn from them so that you are able to offer support.

When you are ready to allow others to receive you again, you come out with your head held high, ready to be the best leader that you know you were intended to be. Realizing at some time in your life you will need to revamp yourself is important. As a leader, it is imperative that you are continually working on yourself. What you invite into your space is connected to what is released into the atmosphere. We are forever changing and always learning.

Be mindful, a leader is not always represented with a church. You can lead your family, a youth group, or even become a leader in your career choice. The primary goal is to become effective in doing so. If your lifestyle is not aligned with the ultimate purpose then how can you expect ultimate results?

A stranger they will not follow but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers
