Choices!!

Make good choices today so that you do not have to regret tomorrow!!

In my opinion, I believe it is better to understand this statement at a much earlier age, then as an adult. I know the saying goes, you live and you learn and I truly believe that. My only question in the back of my mind is, why do we not choose the right choice at that time. When we make the wrong choices we tend to live either with the consequences, live in the dark, or both. This can be prevented if we only choose right the first time. Once we come to the realization that our choices can have a great impact on our future, life, and goals we would then choose wisely.

When we fail to choose wisely, we waste time. By choosing carefully, it may sometimes leave us alone and uncomfortable, but time is something we can never get back. Starting over is excellent and in most times necessary, but that wasted time is gone forever. Now you start having regrets. I wish I would have made a better choice. Those are the words we utter to ourselves. Half the time we know at the time we have to choose rather or not we will have regrets, but we want it anyways.

Why? Contemplate on your why…..

There is NO-THING (nothing) worth hindering your future, goals, integrity, and your self-respect.

There are times where I have sat and thought about my own choices and I have not always chosen the better one. I have taken moments where I would just sit in silence while analyzing my decisions to only realize I made the choice for my own personal gain and or pleasure. I would then feel not worthy of anything God has gifted upon me. I was allowing my poor choices to consume my entire life. Every day I was faced with regret and hiding in the shadows of my decisions as a growing adult. To be clear it was not that I didn’t know any better because my mother taught me well. I just wanted what I wanted at the time, again for personal gain or pleasure.

Understanding now that we cannot change the past but we can definitely have a more prominent future by making better choices sooner than later as helped me in my decisionmaking processes. Let us embed this into the upcoming generations and even our own peers by being the example and product of great decision making. Allow others to see what living life with no regrets looks like.

I challenge you today, to ask for forgiveness and allow God to wipe your slate clean. You do not have to live life with regrets but you use the poor choices you have previously made as a way to encourage others not to do the same. Only you know how your choices have affected you. Scrutinize your choices in your personal life as well as general.

How can you make better financial choices? Social? Just to name a couple. I provoke you to write it down and self-evaluate. Make note on how making better choices can greatly impact your life in a positive way.

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul

Mark 8:36 (NASB)
